Bruce-MillarThe Bruce Millar Memorial Trust was set up in 1988 by Ainslie Millar (a founding director of Scottish Opera and former Chairman of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama) in memory of his son Bruce who died in May 1987 at the age of 38.

This Charitable Trust’s purpose is to contribute financially to young, aspiring professionals seeking careers in the artistic field. The Trust’s two annual awards are therefore intended to help young people prepare for professional work and gain experience in their chosen artistic field, thus providing the opportunity to achieve international recognition.

The next public audition for the Opera Prize will be at 3.00 pm on Sunday 4th March 2018 in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
