WINDING UP OF THE TRUST

It has been decided that the Trust should wind up, and the necessary steps are now being taken to arrange this formally.   During its existence, the Trust has been able to assist some 29 young singers and 24 aspiring ‘backstage fixers’ to the tune of approximately £235000.   It has sufficient funds remaining to be able to donate quite substantial sums to the National Opera Studio, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Scottish Opera to continue to assist aspiring professionals and to maintain the names of Bruce Millar and James Gulliver as the Trust’s constitution requires.

The Trust has had, and is extremely grateful for, a great deal of assistance in achieving its aims from a variety of organisations and individuals, from its voluntary adjudicators in both the Opera and Drama awards and from its many donors.   As Chair of the Trust, I must also express my gratitude to my predecessors as Chair and to all those who have assisted as Trustees by their advice and guidance.
